Job Description:

The Clinical Supervisor assists/supports the clinic administratively and clinically. The position assists in supervisory planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling activities. The Clinical Supervisor assumes responsibility for patient flow, triage and provides direct patient care. Is responsible for efficient day-to-day operations of the clinic and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity. Fosters an environment of collaboration and respect with physician colleagues, nurses and other healthcare team members.

Job Duties:

  • Assists the Practice Manager in daily clinical and operational aspects of the practice including staff scheduling and monitoring of provider clinic schedules to ensure effective resource management and quality improvement through monitoring of key performance indicators, including quality metrics. 
  • Participates in talent life cycle management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, orientation, mentoring, development, engagement, retention, performance management and time keeping. Works with the Practice Manager and Human Resources in performance management counseling and discipline of staff.
  • Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients that is conducive to positive health teaching and maintenance, meeting patient and family expectations for care while implementing mechanisms to ensure culturally specific care. Responds to patient and family concerns or complaints with sensitivity and compassion in a timely fashion.
  • Creates and maintains a supportive work environment for the entire team.  Creates and maintains an atmosphere of respect and courtesy toward patients, staff and colleagues. Promotes a level of professionalism in clinic, both in culture and appearance. 
  • Collaborates with the Practice Manager and physicians to establish patient care standards and evaluates staff compliance.  Serves as a mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction.
  • Maintains clinical relevance, demonstrating self-development by keeping current on a variety of clinical, management and health care topics. Orders and maintains appropriate levels of medical supplies; provides information to other departments (coding, referral/pre-authorizations, etc.) when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved certified program of medical assisting required.  Graduate of approved school of practical nursing or registered nursing strongly preferred.
  • Current Certified/Registered Medical Assistant certification required; Current Missouri LPN or RN license strongly preferred
  • 4 years experience in physician office setting; previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with a patient centered mindset.
