Clinical Education Specialist

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator plans and assists in the implementation of continuing education programs for Nursing staff which focus upon recent changes in clinical practice and procedures. The position holder provides information regarding clinically hazardous procedures and use of special related equipment. Working with the Directors-Nursing, the instructor provides a nursing orientation which facilitates the new employee�s transition into the organization. The educator evaluates, develops, and maintains staff competency.

EXPERIENCE: Experiencerelated to area of expertise � Minimum 3 years previous perioperative experience (PREOP, PACU/ICU, Pre-Surgery Testing) and/or previous experience in education/staff development

OTHER: Basic computer skills, self-motivating, creative, organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), CAPA (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse), CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse)

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing, Preferred: Masters - Nursing
