Job Description:

Under direction of Physician, provides appropriate device management and nursing care to patients.

 Job Duties:

• Demonstrates competency in testing devices and good judgment when programming.  
• Communicates results effectively to the physicians in charge of patient care. 
• Follows documentation procedures per device clinic protocols.
• Performs appropriate CV assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Competency in reviewing remote monitor transmissions. 
• Provides appropriate patient care and follow up.
• Provides device education to patients and their care givers.
• Assists them in coping with the emotional aspects of having an implanted device (ICD shocks, lead fractures, etc.) and provides resources, as needed.
• Demonstrates competency in emergency situations under the direction of a physician.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of two years recent cardiovascular nursing experience.  Prior EP/device testing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association and ACLS certification
• Experience with cardiac rhythm/rhythm management and EKG analysis
• Basic office skills
