Medical Assistant Training Program
Summary
Meritas Health, in collaboration with Park University, is now accepting applications for our Medical Assistant Training Program!
If you are interested in providing direct patient care, possess excellent customer service and teamwork skills, and exhibit professionalism in all interactions, then our 14-week Medical Assistant training program may lead to a new and fulfilling career. Candidates selected for the program will be paid while attending classes and Meritas Health will pay the cost of the training program.
Medical Assistants are a vital part of the healthcare team! The role is diverse, fast-paced and involves administrative and clinical duties in the physician office setting. This is an awesome opportunity to jumpstart or progress your healthcare career!
Academy Start date: December 2nd, 2024
During the training program, you will learn how to:
- Prescreen and prepare patients for examinations
- Take vitals and gather health history
- Administer injections/vaccines
- Assist with procedures
- Appropriately document in the EMR to update and verify patient information
- Perform administrative duties from greeting patients to scheduling appointments
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Customer Service experience is a PLUS
- Must provide or be willing to purchase personal stethoscope
Training Program
- Fourteen (14) weeks paid training
- Starting pay $16.00/hour
- 100% attendance required and the program contains:
- Clinical classroom training, one evening per week required
- Online curriculum
- On the job instruction
- Medical Assistant Certification exam voucher included
After successfully completing the program
- You will be able to select from open Medical Assistant positions in a number of Meritas practices
- 18-month work commitment required
