SUMMARY: The Clinical Informatics Director serves in a leadership role in transforming clinical care through people, process and technology. This role serves as a champion for optimization, insuring enhanced usability of information systems while working with clinical leadership to identify opportunities for clinical process improvements. The Director of Clinical Informatics will act as both educator of and advocate for clinicians within both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The Director of Clinical Informatics defines and communicates best practice systems use by clinicians and non-direct care staff while serving as a customer service advocate improving usability and quantifying value realized through technology solutions.The Clinical Informatics Director is responsible for strategic and operational leadership to support and achieve organizational priorities for information systems funding, development, implementation, and utilization and the integration of clinical informatics with clinical work processes to enable excellence in patient care services and assure compliance with regulatory standards. The Director of Clinical Informatics will participate in the design, development, critique, implementation and evaluation of new clinical information technology solutions and is responsible for the prioritization of clinical care system modifications. Additionally, the Director of Clinical Informatics will be involved in overall clinical information systems� strategic planning, as well as clinical information systems project planning. The Director of Clinical Informatics will serve as the liaison between nursing and IT staff by continuously communicating statuses, analyses, and strategies to key stakeholders. The Director of Clinical Informatics will engage nurses and positively influence them to incorporate best clinical evidence to support the organizational strategic pillars and initiatives.
EXPERIENCE:Extensive experience using Cerner EHR, five years of nursing experience in hospital setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Understands major trends in healthcare, proven track record of EMR implementation and optimization of analytics, aptitude toward vision and abilitiy to take action and implement, positively manage, influence and communicate change, attention to detail, ability to build credibility by demeanor and rapport, handle multiple and potentially conflicting assignments, demands, and priorities.
