Supervisor Clinical Documentation

SUMMARY: Under the Direction of the Department Director, the Clinical Documentation Specialist Supervisor works in collaboration with the Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS), coding professionals, and physicians to ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the medical record that supports the coding process in attaining appropriate DRGs based on sound clinical entries in the medical record.

EXPERIENCE: Hospital experience; Prior supervision experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Organizational, analytical, writing and interpersonal skills. Clinical and coding experience. Knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Knowledge of clinical documentation strategies, DRG assignment,Medicare Part A and Part B guidelines and healthcare compliance and regulations.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing
