Summary

SUMMARY: The Sr. Director of Performance Improvement has primary responsibility for coordinating the planning, implementation and evaluation of continuous improvement for North Kansas City Hospital. Directs the activities of the Performance Improvement Department to identify, analyze, and guide improvements in patient care and service delivery to include quality issues, public reporting initiatives, compliance, and benchmarking studies, so that Hospital, Medical Staff, and regulatory agency requirements are met. Directs the regulatory readiness program to ensure The Joint Commission (TJC), Federal (CMS) and State compliance. Serves as a resource and facilitator for hospital wide and system wide performance improvement activities.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience or equivalent involvement with clinical operations in an acute care facility, including supervising and leading staff. Minimum 5 years full time involvement in hospital quality and process improvement and regulatory readiness.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Demonstrated knowledge of quality measurement and reporting in a healthcare setting. Demonstrated analytical skills. Ability to analyze complex data, system, and problems, and determine possible solutions. Ability to display and analyze time series data using statistical tools. Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles, including PDSA, LEAN, process management. Evidence of successful implementation of continuous quality and process improvement principles and practices required. In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements including TJC, CMS, and state with the ability to lead and influence others throughout the organization to work collaboratively to ensure continuous compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, engaging in direct, open, honest interaction and feedback with a willingness to listen, teach and learn. Must be self motivated and work independently without close supervision. Must possess the ability to work well with other professionals and staff in a creative and challenging work environment.

OTHER: Demonstrated technical competence with MS Office Suite. LEAN Six Sigma Certified Green or Black Belt preferred.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri Preferred: CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality), Lean Six Sigma Certification, Certified Joint Commission Professional

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Health Care Related, Preferred: Masters - Health Care Related
