Gift Shop Manager

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Auxiliary, the Gift Shop Manager supervises and oversees work in the Hospital gift shop and is responsible for the efficient operations of a quality retail sales operation. The Manager will forecast the volume, inventory control, manage the merchandise and purchase items for the population served.

EXPERIENCE: Previous retail experience and management/supervision experience is highly preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of merchandising, promotion and marketing methods. Knowledge of merchandise buying procedures and product market values. Accounts payable experience, computer skills (excel and experience with spreadsheets), experience with a cash register and credit card machine.

OTHER: Has the ability to work independently, be a self starter and duties performed to run an efficient and effective gift shop for the hospital. Excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to lift 40 pounds for shipments.

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent, Preferred: Associates - Related Field
