Coding Compliance Educator

SUMMARY: Initiate, oversee and carryout coding and abstracting audits on inpatient and outpatient charts.  Provide supporting documentation to validate findings. Support with managing appeals and denials, and providing education to coders based on findings from both audits, and denials.   Will also provide training and educational resources to coding staff.  Act as liaison with other departments including education of documentation guidelines.

EXPERIENCE: Required:  experience with coding audits, and organizing findings.  Preferred:  Coding experience, using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

OTHER: Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite,

LICENSE/CERT: At least one required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS

EDUCATION: Required: Degree in HIM
