Summary

SUMMARY: JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP Supply Chain Services, the Director of CS will lead the objectives and goals of the Central Services department in concert with the Supply Chain Services group. They will facilitate the identification and implementation of supply chain distribution logistics improvements to meet our evolving customer service requirements. This role will direct, document and coordinate communication as it relates to agreed customer service levels, new & additional or changed delivery points and new or enhanced programs. They will manage the following departments as a part of CS: central storeroom and all hospital medical supply inventories, equipment storage & distribution, shipping & receiving, operating room supply, GI Lab, Anesthesia, Cath Lab, Meritas Ambulatory Clinics, Shipping & Receiving and Print Shop.Additional responsibilities include inventory (PAR) management, product utilization & standardization, inventory & distribution process improvement, cost reduction initiatives and performance measurements. Ensures open communication on all levels including department personnel, managers, directors, executives and physicians. A major role element is close interaction with clinical staff, physicians and supporting departments regarding refinement to its system-wide supplies management program in order to maximize efficiency, create savings and gain their buy-in for process improvement initiatives.

EXPERIENCE:Minimum 3 years in supply chain management, or related clinical responsibilities as in a health care system(s). In-depth understanding of supply inventories, warehouse and distribution functions and experience with medical or related non-medical supplies. Experience with direct reports in the warehouse & distribution field.

SPECIAL SKILLS:Excellent working knowledge of computer software such as Excel, Access, and warehouse & distribution software systems. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to interact with all levels of organization including senior leadership. Self-motivated with strong analytical and leadership skills. Experience with LEAN techniques in a distribution environment is a plus.

LICENSE/CERT: Preferred: CSPM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) from ISM (Institute for Supply Management), CPM (Certified Purchasing Management), Lean Six Sigma Certification

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Finance, Bachelors - Health Administration, Bachelors - Related Field, Preferred: Masters - Related Field
