Summary

SUMMARY: The Clinical Excellence Coordinator is responsible for supporting and/or facilitating activities related to the attainment and maintenance of ANCC Magnetstatus. This includes, but is not limited to, providing education to members of the NKCH inter-professional team about Magnet Recognition, coordination and facilitation of any related project teams, contributing Sources of Evidence for the Magnet document as assigned, and serving as a resource for various nursing committees and councils. Oversees collection, submission, and reporting of key nursing sensitive outcome indicators through quarterly and annual reports. Supports process improvement, evidenced based practice and nursing research in the organization.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience as an RN. Nursing education background, performance improvement, and Magnet experience strongly preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Understanding of Magnet, nursing shared governance and project improvement principles and their application to the practice of professional nursing. Excellent communication, project management and writing skills. Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to act as a role model and mentor for clinical standards of excellence, build key relationships with nurses at all levels of the organization, and to lead by influence, knowledge sharing and relationships with others.

OTHER: Knowledge/aptitude for working with nursing quality data, including, but not limited to, NDNQI and other patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and RN satisfaction. National specialty nursing certification required, or commitment to obtain within 6 months of employment.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing, Preferred: Masters - Nursing, Masters - Health Care Management
