Job Description:

Under the direction of leadership, the Radiology Technician performs and assists with all duties related to diagnostic radiology procedures, drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, and clinic support.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifies equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, calibrates equipment using approved procedures, and monitors quality control measures.
  • Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers by following established procedures and complying with all regulatory requirements. Takes preventive steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Closely follows physician instructions and positions patient properly to obtain diagnostic imaging studies. Sets equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged, minimizing the need for repeat imaging.
  • Competently performs drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, and clinical support.
  • Prepares patients for physical examinations, taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certified Radiology Technician with diploma from accredited school
  • Minimum one year experience performing radiographic procedures
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Phlebotomy skills and specimen collection experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
  • Maintains quality results by running standards and controls
  • Verifies equipment function
  • Contributes to a safe and secure environment
  • Closely follows physician instruction
