Summary

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Patient Accounts Director, serves as a resource for staff and ensures workflows are followed. Troubleshoots complex billing scenarios and escalates, as needed. Assists with special projects, as assigned. Conducts ongoing training/in-services for staff and is responsible for training of new employees; manages account receivable activities to ensure optimal revenue outcomes and customer experience.

EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years experience in a patient account-related position preferred; 5 years billing and payer experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:Excellent customer service and communication skills required; excellent judgement skills in handling difficult situations; ability to work in fast-paced environment; ability to problem solve issues where analysis and complex decision making is required; serves as first level of escalation in issue resolution for staff; decisions and actions have direct impact on hospital financials; demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management.

OTHER:Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams; Knowledge of medical terminology, payer policies, UB-04 and modifiers preferred.
