What are the typical hours on the job?

The hours of operation for the Occupational Medicine practice are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.

What does a Revenue Cycle Associate do?

Under the direction of the leadership, this position supports the billing functions by actively monitoring assigned accounts, adhering to billing procedures, performing collections and providing customer service.

What does a typical day on the job look like?

  • Ensures accurate and timely claim resolution. Performs follow up with insurance companies to ensure appropriate payment on claims, resolve denials, correct claims, and appeal claims. 
  • Communicates using form letters, email, or internal correspondence to resolve inquiries and insurance issues. Documents accounts with clear and concise verbiage, and reviews and responds to correspondence and inquiries received. Issues employer or insurance refunds as necessary.
  • Utilizes work queues to review and analyze account balances to collect payment for outstanding balances, utilizes multiple system applications to review and update patient information, and to research and resolve outstanding AR balances. 
  • Accesses and understands the various online systems processes in determining how a claim has been paid in order to accurately apply payments and adjustments and assist in determining the adjudication of funds. 
  • Contacts employers and insurance entities to secure necessary billing information. Scans payment batches and mail daily.

What are the requirements for the job?

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years healthcare billing preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes
  • Basic knowledge of medical billing terminology preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
