What are the typical hours on the job?

The hours of operation for the Total Weight Loss Center practice are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.

What does an Assistant Practice Manager do?

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic, focusing on physician relationships, staff relationships, customer service, and fiscal management. Collaborates closely with the Practice Manager to maintain a positive patient experience, manage day-to-day operations, and uphold the practice’s standards of excellence. Plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the medical practice, supporting both patients and staff.

What does a typical day on the job look like?

  • Supervises designated staff, or in the absence of the Office Manager.
  • Assists with employee payroll, accounts payable, personnel records, benefits, and new employee orientation. Address staff inquiries and concerns, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Assist in maintaining the practice’s compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and guidelines. Participate in audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Oversees front end revenue cycle processes and performance. Assist in tracking practice expenses, monitoring budgets, and preparing financial reports.
  • Assists in overseeing patient scheduling to maximize physician schedules, patient communication, and customer service. Address patient feedback, complaints, and concerns, working to resolve issues effectively.
  • Demonstrates professionalism by articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility and accountability for actions, adhering to policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership, and supporting Meritas initiatives.

What are the requirements for the job?

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical office setting, bariatric experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical practice management, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent financial skills, focusing on cost containment, reimbursement, and collection practices.
  • Leadership and team management abilities. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations.
  • Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
