Summary
SUMMARY: Provides proactive management of complex applications in a highly integrated environment. In addition to performing day-to-day application support responsibilities this position serves a consultative role for customers; working with end-users to design efficient workflows that make the most of available automation. The application systems analyst is responsible for running customer facing Change Advisory Boards and for maintaining customer engagement.
The Patient Accounting Application Analyst provides expert knowledge to proactively design, troubleshoot and optimize the workflow processes associated with Cerner Patient Accounting solution. The Analyst will demonstrate skills essential to write claim edits/processing rules and provides oversight of the Cerner Patient Accounting solution to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of the health system’s patient accounting data. Expert proficiency in designing Patient Accounting work queues/work items and workflows with full appreciation of the Revenue Cycle continuum to ensure efficient operational processes. Develops and writes programming rules such as 835 claim rules, processing of 837 files and General Ledger build and aliasing. Provides robust knowledge and support of clearinghouse solutions to ensure timely filing and processing of claims.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years working with computers and computer programs. 2 years experience in a healthcare facility or with a health care system.
SPECIAL SKILLS: High level of skill with a PC, familiarity with Windows Operating Systems, expert in Microsoft Office programs, working understanding of general database principles and how data is stored, working understanding of general networking principles, working understanding of web based systems.
EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent, Preferred: Bachelors - Related Field
