Senior Buyer

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Procurement Operations, the Sr. Buyer performs procurement functions related to capital equipment & related services. The Sr. Buyer will act as the primary facilitator for procurement of assigned capital requests including equipment, hardware, software & related services. The Sr. Buyer works with NKCH departments and suppliers to maintain an optimal flow of supplies to the system at the lowest total acquisition cost. The Buyer will be an expert user of NKCH�s MMIS system and is the primary customer service contact system users about procurement operations and system issues and is responsible for resolving procurement related issues in a satisfactory manner ensuring a positive experience. The Sr. Buyer works with suppliers, Central Supply, requestors, 3rd parties, AP and other groups to ensure smooth operations, transactions, consistent flow of supply and effective troubleshooting of problems. Responsible for supporting the build of ROI analysis, conducting RFPs as needed, negotiating capital deals with counterparties, coordinating needs between user departments and suppliers, contracting, confirming orders with suppliers, tracking of shipments, expediting as justified by demand and availability and efficiently managing logistics and total acquisition cost. Responsible for writing & issuing purchase orders, investigating inconsistencies and authorizing release of orders to suppliers as required.

EXPERIENCE: 4 years business experience, preferably in the health care environment.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Negotiations, strong MS Excel skills, MS Office, math, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

LICENSE/CERT: Preferred: CMRP (Certified Materials and Resource Professional), CPISM Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management, CPM (Certified Purchasing Management)

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Related Field, Equivalent Experience - Related Field, Preferred: Bachelors - Healthcare Related Field
