Summary

The Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations and optimal reimbursement for the organization.  Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for work papers and analysis needed to complete the annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and related projects, such as Medicare bad debts and wage index.  
  • Works with large datasets to identify trends and opportunities to increase reimbursement and efficiencies in the organization.
  • Heavily involved with calculating the monthly contractuals and reserves and providing analytical support to explain changes in revenue.
  • Participates in preparation of the annual net revenue budget. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of two to four years experience in an analytical or financial role required. 
  • Healthcare related experience is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving and project management.
  • Experience in data collection, data analysis and project management using computer software required.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships across multiple functional groups is crucial for success.

SPECIAL SKILLS: 

  • Advanced skills in Excel spreadsheet software required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines is required. 
  • Experience with monthly net revenue calculations and / or governmental reimbursement requirements preferred
  • Experience with relational databases preferred

OTHER: A key component of the position includes building the necessary relationships with operational leaders to gain an understanding of current processes as they relate to reimbursement opportunities and suggesting areas for improvement.
